One person’s trash is another’s treasure..

Hi Everyone !  Welcome to another Chalk Paint Transformation.

I found this free dresser on the sidewalk while driving home and immediately knew I wanted to give it a makeover. My boyfriend and I just bought our first home so I knew we needed to save our money anyway we can. I took it home, put it in my garage and landed the dresser on a dolly so I can maneuver the piece anyway I wanted.

First, l removed the hardware and drawers, then I cleaned the dresser with some warm water and dish soap and wiped the dresser down with a rag. The chalk paint I used was Annie sloan Athenian black. I used 2 chalk paint brushes one for trim and one for the larger surfaces. This dresser has 9 drawers total so I started on the middle 3 drawers that were hidden in the cabinet and then powered through the rest

I finished painting the piece in the Athenian black chalk paint and let it dry over night. The next morning I started on the finish, chalk paint is very matte and I wanted this piece to have a little shine to it so I used satin finish to seal the dresser and now here’s the finished product in my new home I brightened the hardware using bar keepers friend to remove the dullness it had once before.
